After watching this Bud Nip video, Ainsley, Sydney and I decided to do our own experiment.

Our Hypothesis:

1) The conventional yam from our conventional grocery store will show little to no growth.

Institute for Humane Education: Teaching for a Positive Future

I am counting down the days until my first online course begins with the Institute for Humane Education.

On 06 February 2012, I begin a six week course on Teaching for a Positive Future. During this course, I expect to “Learn skills, tools and insights for teaching students critical and creative thinking about social justice, environmental ethics, and animal protection, and enhance their understanding of the power they have to nurture a just, compassionate, sustainable world for themselves, other people, other animals, and the earth.”

I was inspired with the IHE philosophy after Lexie gave me a copy of More Good, Less Harm and after watching the video below by IHE President, Zoe Weil’s TEDx talk — an inspiring vision of how to create a just, compassionate, healthy world for all through solutionary education.Read more
