Eco-Friendly Vegan Messenger Bag

Giving Greg a gift anytime of year is next to impossible. He is a man of no wants! His socks have large holes in the soles even though I bought him new socks, he wears his shoes until the soles crack and leak, most of his clothes and suits are 1-2 decades old, and he doesn’t like any material possessions other than comfy clothes when not dressed for work (they too are older than our girls), his iPhone 4, his TiVo, and money in his pocket to play poker as a means to decompress from corporate America.… Read more

Thanksgiving Gluten-Free Vegan Recipes

My search produced huge results as I paged through my Living Without, Gluten-Free Living, Eating Well, and Whole Living Magazines, my Vegan Yum Yum cookbook, and several online searches.

Here’s what I’ve come up with (so far – I’m still working on deserts):

Beet, Orange & Chickpea Salad

Operation Gratitude: Halloween Candy Buy Back Program

My girls love to go door-to-door in costume while visiting all of our neighbors, but what do we do with all of our candy?

I buy gluten-free safe candy from the Natural Candy Store (gluten-free candy that is manufactured in a gluten-free facility) or I make our own candy so they don’t go without sweet treats, and since the candy Ainsley and Sydney eat is not given out on Halloween, I created a different tradition combining several ideas along the way.Read more

My Non-Stuff, Hundred Dollar Holiday Celebration

It is nearing that time of year again, and before we know it, the holiday season will be upon us. However, Christmas present will be a different from my Christmas past.

Scrabbled Affection for Father’s Day

Father’s Day was here again, and I was put to the test yet again. Greg is a man who wants nothing. Literally, he doesn’t want us to buy him a single thing, and when we do, he returns it more times than not, so the girls and I were left to our own creativity.… Read more

My Mother’s Day: Gardening, Tilling, Swinging and Dining

My dream Mother’s Day was yesterday.

I woke up to the happiest little girls as Ainsley and Sydney couldn’t wait to give me their cards (Ainsley’s card contained a gift certificate to the Water Club Spa at the Borgata and Sydney’s card contained a note that we had a 5:30 dinner reservation for four at my favorite restaurant, Izakaya, which is also at the Borgata).… Read more
